LLL PHILOSOPHY

La Leche League of Georgia is an Area affiliated with La Leche League Alliance for Breastfeeding Education, Inc. (hereafter referred to as LLL Alliance.) LLL Alliance is directly connected with La Leche League International, Inc.

La Leche League of Georgia recognizes La Leche League International, Inc. (hereafter referred to as LLLI) as the sole source for accreditation of LLLI Leaders, and that such accreditation is valid worldwide.

La Leche League of Georgia affirms the Vision, Mission, Philosophy, Inclusivity Statement and Principles of LLLI. These are referenced in the “About” section of the LLLI webpage.

About Us

La Leche League is an international, non-profit, non-sectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, mother-to-mother support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.

La Leche League is a peer-to-peer breastfeeding support organization. Accredited by La Leche League International, volunteer Leaders are experienced in breastfeeding, having breastfed their own babies. They have then gone on to be trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with breastfeeding. Leaders are familiar with research and current findings dealing with nursing. We offer practical information and support to nursing mothers and their supporters through peer-support meetings (both virtual and face-to-face.) We may also be able to give one-on-one help via telephone, email, or text. Leaders have familiarity with resources that can be helpful to the family, either online references or book titles concerning childbirth, breastfeeding, and related parenting topics. All interested in breastfeeding are welcome to attend meetings or call Leaders for breastfeeding help.

La Leche League Leaders have been supporting women and their breastfeeding choices since 1956 and have spread from seven women serving their community to an international organization serving countries around the world. With Groups and many accredited La Leche League Leaders active in the state of Georgia, an LLL meeting that is right for you may be just around the corner.
